Hijabies and hamburgers - why do they call them hamburgers when there is no ham in them?

Wow, thanks for posting these Ange, it's not everyday that hijab makes mainstream magazines. Some great shots, and I love the apple green bag too.

I used one of these images in my header...anyway... Wow you wear abaya and conso hijab! thats great! I wish I could. I mentioned before i do wear it in syria. We were jilbab to be precise. But like abaya is so flowy and pretty!! iono just feminine.. How old are you? Losts of peeps tell me i'm too young to wear abaya and it makes it harder to wear it, also my hussband doesn't like it. And I dont want to upset or argue with him. I'm really happy to find out that your staunchh about conso dressing! Oh, shoes and bags..lol who can resist..right?..hehe

cheers

Lovely! But I'm not feeling the nail polish though.... But I really like the style.

Pixie said...

Khaleeji girls don't like to talk about their time of their month with their man so they wear nail polish to warn him: D

*~Ange~* said...

thats the reason for the nail polish? really?
i would just be straight with him and say "not now - wait a week"

Ange: LOL. Yeah. We westerners are more direct.

I think these model are just not Muslims though: D

*~Ange~* said...

yah i think youre right. most of the girls on dubai's catwalks wearing abayas are not muslim as well.

"We westerners are more direct" - i think we just dont beat around the bush

wow i've seen these pics a lot but still, i love them...my fave is the second (the one where the woman is driving the car)!!
but i was just wondering how the niqabi was planning to go about eating that hamburger??? ;P just curious.
and yeah, ange, i love your sense of humor. i swear i laugh at least thrice everytime i open up your blog. seriously.

aaww shucks.. thanks ahsya..
ive seen niqabis eat before in public.. they just put the food under the niqab flappy thing. i saw a woman doing it with a fork.. it was so elegant. but a whole hamburger.. im not too sure.

LOL Actually to eat with a niqab, the bigger the better. I do it sometimes, such as at the brother's fast-a-thon at the local UNI and I swear, eating a footlong sub sandwich with niqab is easy, you just lift and place food under, and niqab away a little from the face,---now soup----or fancy coffees with whipped cream, that can get a little messy: D But it IS as hard as it looks.
